Photos. Yellow pigment suspended in water creates what looks like yellow smoke against a white background.

The Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw invites you to workshops for adults and teenagers aged 16 and up, accompanying the exhibition “The Women’s Question 1550–2025”.

Do you know how paint is made? What techniques did the old masters use before ready-made oil and acrylic paints entered the market? The Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw invites you to painting workshops for adults, during which we will create paint from scratch with our own hands and discover the secrets of egg tempera—one of the oldest and most fascinating painting techniques.

We will begin our meeting with a brief visit to the exhibition “The Women’s Question 1550–2025,” where we will examine the work “Self-Portrait” by Felicja Curyło. Then, in the workshop space, we’ll explore the process of creating paint from natural ingredients: pigment, water, and egg yolk. Using the medium they’ve prepared themselves, each participant will create their own unique piece on canvas or paper.

We recommend this workshop both to experienced painters and to those who last painted in elementary school art classes.

**We will be using chicken eggs during the workshop. It is a good idea to
bring a change of clothes—for the duration of the painting session.
