ASSOCIATION OF FRIENDS OF MSN WARSAW CommunitiesPARTNERSL’INTERNATIONALE

The Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw (MSN Warsaw) is a municipal cultural institution. The museum was established by a decree of the Minister of Culture on 29 April 2005.

HISTORY OF MSN WARSAW

The museum was established by a decree of the Minister of Culture on 29 April 2005.

Starting in January 2008, MSN Warsaw operated at temporary premises at ul. Pańska 3, across the street from the Palace of Culture and Science.

MSN WARSAW BUILDING

The museum building along the western side of ul. Marszałkowska has a total floor area of about 20,000 m2, on four aboveground levels and two underground levels.

The core functional areas of the museum’s interior are exhibition spaces totaling over 4,500 m2, educational rooms, and areas for conservation and storage of artworks. Supplementary functions include a cinema, an auditorium, a café and a shop. The building also has office space for the museum administration.

We believe that writing about art and artists can be fascinating and inspiring also for people who aren’t affiliated day-to-day with the art world.

We publish books about art and contemporary culture, as well as exhibition catalogs. We continue to expand several series of publications: The Museum Speaks, Museum Under Construction, New Histories of Art, and Cinema Museum. We also publish books outside of these series.
