What are we going to do?

The Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw invites you to a creative family workshop titled “Dream Animals,” which accompanies the exhibition “You Are at the Heart of Change: Surrealism and Anti-Fascism.”

During the workshop, we’ll explore how artists depict animals. First, we’ll take a walk through the exhibition together, following the trail of extraordinary creatures—the subjects of paintings by artists such as Pablo Picasso, Eileen Agar, and Emil Fila. We’ll explore together whether they have hooves or paws. We’ll imagine what they might feel like to the touch and what sounds they make. We’ll also try to find a tiny reproduction of a certain famous painting hidden somewhere in our exhibition space.

During the workshop, we’ll create original collages and drawings featuring our favorite animals. We’ll use techniques characteristic of Surrealist artists. We’ll also seek inspiration in their favorite game—namely, “exquisite corpse”—during which we’ll create surreal creatures together!

Important Tips

A workshop ticket grants admission to the exhibition for up to 3 hours after the start of the workshop.
