Touch Architecture! (Ages 7–12)

 

Our workshops are excellent for developing mindfulness, the sense of touch, and spatial imagination. They’ll allow you to look at architecture in a whole new way—not just with your eyes, but above all with your own hands!

 

In the first part of the session, we’ll explore together what materials our museum is made of. We’ll look for surfaces as smooth as glass, as rough as concrete, as shiny as metal, and as warm as wood.

 

For the youngest children: We’ll invite younger children to participate in engaging physical and sensory games.
For older children: Older children will take part in real architectural investigations. We’ll place sheets of paper against various surfaces in the museum and rub them with pencils. This way, we’ll create unique impressions and trace hidden textures.

In the second part of the workshop, we’ll move on to hands-on activities. Together, we’ll create a unique object that combines imitations of the four main materials our building is made of.

Karo Jabłońska – MSN educator and art history student at the University of Warsaw. She leads exhibition tours, classes for children and teens, and workshops. She draws inspiration from the practice of storytelling and conversations with objects—asking them questions and then searching for answers together.
