A highly detailed, multicolored painting depicting a dense urban landscape from a bird's-eye view. In the center of the town sit two gigantic figures—a woman in red tights and a man smoking a cigarette.

What are we going to do?

The Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw invites you to creative family workshops accompanying the exhibition “Edward Dwurnik: Pride and Shame.”

In the first part of the workshops, we’ll visit the exhibition to view selected works. Together, we’ll explore whether paintings can tell us different stories. Who are the figures we see on the canvases? What were they doing before the painter captured them in a painting? We’ll talk about what art often conveys much better than words: emotions, feelings, and impressions. Then, together, we’ll create a story that will enrich our visit to the exhibition with elements from our own imaginations!

In the second part of the workshop, we’ll create our own paintings and one collaborative comic! We’ll draw, paint, and work both independently and as a group. We’ll see how our individual stories can come together to form an extraordinary narrative for our entire group. Can our ideas inspire one another? Or maybe together we’ll come up with something completely surprising? During this part, each of us will create a unique piece of art that we’ll proudly take home later.

Important Tips

A workshop ticket grants admission to the exhibition for up to 3 hours after the workshop begins.
