The Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw invites you to family workshops where art becomes an experience for all the senses. This event has been designed with the comfort and needs of children in mind, including those with sensory hypersensitivity and autism spectrum disorders. We will view the works of artist Nadia Markiewicz and think about what we like to play most. What games bring us joy and what is interesting about them? What rules are important to us? Can we, like the artist, design our own playing cards? Or maybe even our own game?
In the second part of the worksop, using a variety of materials, such as foam and fabric, we will create our own props that we can use during our dream game!
Sensory-friendly workshops take into account the needs of children with sensory hypersensitivity and autism spectrum disorders. They are conducted in small groups by appropriately trained instructors. We also invite siblings of children with different needs and all families who want to learn about art in a friendly environment to join the workshops. The workshops require the active participation of caregivers, and the tasks performed in pairs strengthen the bond between parent and child.
