The Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw invites you to a sensory-friendly family workshop titled “Pride Has Many Faces,” which accompanies the exhibition “Edward Dwurnik: Pride and Shame.”
During the workshop, we’ll talk about our passions and the things we’re proud of. It could be a unique collection of building blocks, participation in sports competitions, a plant we grew ourselves from a seed, or even the smallest, everyday achievements that bring us great joy. Together, we’ll reflect on what pride is and how many different sources it can have.
At the exhibition, we’ll take a closer look at selected works by Edward Dwurnik. We’ll carefully observe the paintings, discuss the scenes the artist depicted, and explore them through simple movement and sound activities.
In the workshop room, we’ll create large-format self-portraits. We’ll look for inspiration in the things we’re proud of! This will be a wonderful opportunity for creative expression, collaborative work, and pleasant conversation in a safe atmosphere that accommodates a variety of sensory needs.
Who are these workshops for?
These sensory-friendly workshops take into account the needs of children with sensory sensitivities and those on the autism spectrum. Classes are held in small groups and are led by appropriately trained educators.
We also invite siblings of children with diverse needs, as well as absolutely all families who want to explore art in a gentle, welcoming environment. The sessions require active participation from caregivers, and the pair activities are a wonderful way to strengthen the bond between parent and child.
