MOVING SHAPES. A sensory workshop for children up to 3 years old

The Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw invites you to another event for our youngest art enthusiasts. This time, we’ll draw inspiration for sensory play from the work of Maria Jarema, whose new exhibition is currently on view at the Museum.

In the workshop room, we will explore various shapes together using our senses—primarily through movement, touch, and sound. We will see what it’s like to move along a circle and discover which shape can be the fastest. We’ll ponder whether a circle is always soft and a triangle always hard, and we’ll try to transform our bodies into selected geometric shapes.

We’ll ensure a completely safe, creative, and supportive atmosphere. We want not only to have a great time, but above all to naturally support children’s sensory and motor development. It’s also a perfect opportunity to build a mindful, close relationship between child and caregiver in MSN’s new, inspiring space.

We will conduct the activities at a very calm, flexible pace. We will adapt everything to the current needs, moods, and rhythm of our little participants.

Duration: 45 minutes

Age group: Parents with children aged 6 months to 3 years

A ticket to the workshop grants admission to the exhibition (up to 3 hours after the start of the session). Some parts of the exhibition may be unsuitable for minors. For details regarding sensitive content, please ask at the reception desk or check the dedicated flyer.

Aleksandra Górecka—educator, coordinator of educational programs for families with children at the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw, author of content for educational cards accompanying exhibitions. She has been collaborating with the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw since 2016. Since 2020, she has also been working as an educator at the National Museum in Warsaw, where she conducts museum lessons for preschools and schools. She holds a degree in pedagogy from the University of Warsaw.
