Misterioso: A Family Magic Show

 

The event “Misterioso: A Family Magic Show” accompanies our new exhibition “Nadia Markiewicz. Misterioso.” In her work, the artist draws inspiration from the world of the circus, entertainment, and magic shows. She abandons conventional realism in favor of mystery—using the aesthetics of illusion, stage props, and tricks as extraordinary metaphors that speak to the body and human experience. To prolong this unique experience and bring the magic of the exhibition directly into our auditorium, we’ve invited real magicians to the stage!

We’ve prepared an interactive comedy-style show for you. Performing for you will be the illusionist Emdżi—one of the few women practicing this unusual profession.

During the performance, you won’t just be passive spectators—you’ll become an active part of the magical show! Objects will suddenly appear and disappear right in your own hands, cut ropes will mysteriously reconnect, and metal hoops will pass right through each other. The show has an incredibly lighthearted, humorous tone. We guarantee plenty of improvisation, unexpected twists, and funny situations involving the audience.

On stage, you’ll see classic magic props and stunning visual effects, such as the dancing glass ball. The magic will be accompanied by live music. This dynamic show will prove to you that nothing is impossible, and that the truest magic happens right before your eyes—and often in your own hands!

Marta Julia Skoczek (Illusionist Emdżi) – an actress and illusionist who has been performing on stage for over 15 years. During this time, she has staged over 4,000 shows. Her performances brilliantly combine classic illusion with humor and direct interaction with the audience, making each show a unique experience full of surprises.

Karol Skoczek – guitarist and music producer. He creates music in the genres of jazz, fusion, alternative, and hip-hop. In his compositions, he enjoys incorporating catchy melodies into intricate jazz progressions. Music educator,
