Working day and night, the extremely prolific filmmaker and performer Quentin Dupieux occasionally presents us with a true gem – and The Second Act is just such a treasure., an outrageously irreverent and hyper-incorrect comedy about how even artificial intelligence cannot threaten the hidden source of cinematic spectacle, which is the sensitive actor's ego.
The action takes place on the set of "the first film directed by AI," and the quartet of performers (Seydoux, Lindon, Garrel, Quenard) give their all in this short but wild satire on their own profession – which, in a twisted way, ends up becoming a love letter to cinema (despite everything).
