We invite you to an event we’ve organized for teachers as part of the exhibition “You Are at the Heart of Change: Surrealism and Anti-Fascism.” In the first part, we invite you to a guided tour of the exhibition, and in the second part, to demonstration workshops. During these workshops, we’ll present selected activities that we do with groups during our workshops.
This event will be perfect both for those who plan to visit us with their classes in the coming months and for those who are simply looking for inspiration for their own projects in the field of arts education.
The exhibition “You Are at the Heart of Change: Surrealism and Anti-Fascism” tells the story of artists who deeply believed that the power of the imagination can change reality. Artists from different continents joined forces to fight for freedom and equality. Through painting, poetry, and collage, they opposed injustice and war. The exhibition invites visitors to discover works that serve as a universal language of resistance, solidarity, and creative freedom.
Our educational activities at the exhibition are a great opportunity to practice mindful observation and discuss art, regardless of age. With the youngest children, we’ll set out in search of strange creatures, play with associations, and see how the magic of art works in practice. With older students, we’ll talk about defying conventions, human rights, and great courage. All these diverse works provide us with a great starting point for discussion!
Biography of the Presenter
Piotr Lewandowski — MSN educator, visual artist, cultural animator. A graduate of Media Art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and Photography at the University of Arts in Poznań. He works with photography, video, installation, and performance. His art explores themes related to movement, space, interpersonal relationships, and queerness.
