The Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw, together with the Bogna Olszewska Unlimited Foundation, cordially invite you to the first in a series of webinars summarizing the projects completed as part of the 4th edition of the Bogna Olszewska Scholarship.
ABOUT THE WEBINAR
How can cultural institutions operate in the spirit of the principle “nothing about us without us,” engaging people with experience of migration and refugee status in a way that empowers them?
We will seek answers to this question during a conversation between Paulina Piórkowska and Magdalena Sadura, Dominika Szpinda, and Sitora Yusupova.
The meeting is a continuation of the project “New Residents of Warsaw: Equal Access to Cultural Institutions,” carried out as part of a scholarship by Paulina Piórkowska. The project analyzed barriers to access to culture and good practices developed in cooperation with experts, organizations, and self-advocates.
During the webinar, we will discuss, among other things:
how cultural institutions can respond to the real needs of people with migration experience, what role self-advocates play and why it is crucial to include their perspective, what practical tools support the creation of equal and open spaces,
how to strengthen migrants' sense of belonging to the local community.
WHO IS IT FOR?
The webinar is aimed at people working in cultural and arts institutions, educators, animators, people working in non-governmental organizations, as well as anyone looking for tools to
