At the final outdoor movie screening, we’ll watch the film How to Make a Film About Concrete?. The screening will be preceded by a conversation between Driana Prodeus, a film journalist, and architect Jakub Szczęsny. Before the film, we’ll see a montage of amateur films about Warsaw from the collection of the Polish Home Movie Archive.
John Wilson has a knack for turning even the most ordinary subject into a fascinating adventure. This time, the starting point is concrete—the ubiquitous material from which our cities are built. Wilson follows its trail through the streets of New York, Rome, and American suburbs, encountering people and institutions whose existence one would hardly guess. With his characteristic humor and tenderness, he weaves a story about everyday life, the absurdities of the modern world, and the constant need to find meaning in seemingly trivial things.
