What are we going to do?
Join us for a guided tour with audio description of the exhibition “Edward Dwurnik: Pride and Shame.” The exhibition features the artist’s paintings from the 1970s and 1980s. It primarily consists of two main series: “Athletes” and “Workers.” In these series, the artist painted ordinary people and their daily lives. He viewed painting as a wonderful way to tell stories about our reality. He believed that art should be accessible to everyone and help people understand one another better.
The exhibition also explores the major changes that took place in Poland during the second half of the 20th century and how the lives of people from various backgrounds evolved. Together, we will discover these extraordinary paintings and reflect on what they have to offer us today.
We are organizing this event as part of the series “What You Can’t See in Art”, which is open to everyone but designed primarily with the needs of people with visual impairments in mind. Detailed audio descriptions and the use of the sense of touch allow visitors to experience the works presented in the exhibition. We invite everyone interested in this way of experiencing art to join us.

Biography of the Presenter
Marcin Matuszewski — educator, longtime employee of Warsaw’s cultural institutions, specialist in accessibility for people with special needs. An advocate for mindfulness in experiencing both culture and nature, a proponent of multisensory experiences of the world, a Warsaw city guide, and an allotment gardener.
