Surrealist Tarot

Tarot cards have fascinated us and captured our attention for centuries. They embody the rich symbolism of many cultures, astrology, and the magic of numbers. Tarot and surrealism have a lot in common—even Leonora Carrington, an artist featured in our exhibition, created her own deck! Although many myths have grown up around these cards over the years, today they are experiencing a true renaissance. A multitude of new, unique decks are being created: from fully abstract designs to inclusive options.

During our workshop, we’ll add our own surrealist twist to all this! We’ll start with a short tour of the exhibition, where we’ll look for unusual symbols and visual ideas. Then we’ll move to the education room. Each participant will draw one card and interpret it entirely in their own way, using any art technique they choose.
