On Friday, July 31, we invite you to the opening of a new exhibition: Edward Dwurnik. Pride and Shame. Admission will be free that day thanks to our collaboration with Audi—the exhibition’s sponsor and the museum’s strategic partner. On July 31, the museum will be open starting at 11:00 a.m.
The exhibition Edward Dwurnik. Pride and Shame focuses on the artist’s work from the 1970s and 1980s—presenting two of his major painting series, titled Sportspeople and Workers. The starting point for the exhibition was the desire to reconstruct Dwurnik’s original artistic stance, which took shape at the turn of the 1960s and 1970s.
Edward Dwurnik’s exhibition is accompanied by an artistic intervention by Patryk Różycki titled Transformation. It features a selection of his works from 2021–2024. The series of paintings explores the artist’s childhood and adolescence in the countryside amid the economic and social exclusion associated with the transformation of the 1990s.
