Maps of Warsaw

We’ll begin our session with a short guided tour of the exhibition. Together, we’ll reflect on our relationships with Warsaw. This will be a wonderful opportunity to consider how differently we might see and remember the same city. Which places leave the strongest impression on our memories? What makes a particular street, building, or square an important part of our personal history?

 

After visiting the exhibition, we’ll create our own city maps—personal records of places and the memories associated with them. We’ll use a variety of drawing techniques to construct an urban space using symbols, silhouettes, architectural details, and colorful accents. We’ll use excerpts from real maps, photographs of Warsaw, and simple urban symbols. We’ll combine them exactly as our own imagination dictates!

A workshop ticket grants admission to the exhibition up to 2 hours before the event.

Lesia Shykiriava —educator/MSN guide, cultural studies scholar, graduate of Ostroh Academy (Ukraine), currently pursuing a research internship at the University of Warsaw as part of a program for young researchers. She focuses on supporting migrants in the integration process and fostering intercultural dialogue. She is fascinated by art history, social change, and gender studies.
