HISTORIA DE UN AMOR. PAWEŁ SAKOWICZ

Historia de un Amor is a one-off performance in which I re-mix fragments of my other choreographies to-date. It is also a story about my love for dance and people with whom I have worked. It is a story about styling gel, a boy from a port town and female hips. It is based on Vortex, a sound installation that asks questions regarding objective and subjective histories of dance and their mutual gravitation, where affect they greeted me with a flurry of flowers. I returned to the balcony, and asked my assistant what it was that I did which sparked that deal of enthusiasm. Why m’am, she said, you’ve just made them happy, for all of one hour you made it possible for them to forget about the sorrow of their lives.

The event is part of the opening’s Choreographic Programme. With more than twenty shows, the audience will be offered an opportunity to witness diverse artistic strategies and a multitude of formal takes. The programme includes works in progress, dance acts and choreographic installations, with spectacular group productions sharing space with intimate solo activities.
