During the Turnus Show, the stage of KINOMUZEUM will become a place where performers recruited through an open call present their own freely imagined work in front of the audience, from paintings to performances, magic tricks to poetry readings or standup comedy. The Turnus Show is a full-blown spectacle where anyone can perform, subject only to the limitations of the stage space and the stated theme, “show.”* The show will be fun, accessible, and over the top.
*show [noun]
1. A display; a manifestation
2. A false appearance; a pretense
3. A striking appearance or display; a spectacle
4. A pompous or ostentatious display
5. A public exhibition or entertainment
(just a few of the definitions in The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language)
The creators of the show at MSN Warsaw are Marcelina Gorczyńska and Kamila Falęcka, artists running Turnus, an independent artistic and curatorial collective. Until 2023, Turnus operated on ul. Wolska in Warsaw as a space departing from the traditional gallery model. Guided by the belief that art blossoms under free and collegial conditions, Turnus combines programs of exhibitions and events with venues for meetings of local communities. The participants and curators of the Turnus Show this October will be accompanied by Magdalena Komornicka from MSN Warsaw and the artist Horacy Muszyński.
