HER Docs Film Festival 2026: Reclaiming History, Reclaiming Our Voices
From October 1–6, 2026, the next edition of the HER Docs Film Festival will take place—the only festival in Poland and one of the few in the world dedicated entirely to non-fiction films created by women.
It’s six days of encounters with cinema that is bold, surprising, and defies simple categorization.
This year’s program will take the audience on a journey through various places, experiences, and perspectives.
We’ll meet a transgender teenager growing up in Mexico, a Ugandan activist who isn’t afraid to say what others would rather not hear, women fighting for their rights in the world of religion, as well as heroines confronting the inequalities embedded in their daily lives and work.
All the stories told are socially engaged, while also presenting the protagonists’ intimate narratives, often filled with humor, tenderness, and self-deprecating humor.
This year’s HER Docs festival program will feature documentaries as well as productions that do not formally fit within the genre of documentary film – often experimental or fictionalized.
