The Ordinary Fascist

  • The Ordinary Fascist

The first in the series of meetings is an introduction to the reading of "Male Fantasies".

Fascism today is analyzed from a great variety of perspectives. Before reading Theweleit's book we will therefore attempt to put ourselves near the point of view from which the author analyzed this phenomenon. Only from there can we have a good look at the "ordinary fascist". We shall reach this place by discussing short excerpts from the following works:

  • H. Arendt, "The Origins of Totalitarianism"
  • H. Arendt, "Eichmann in Jerusalem"
  • T. W. Adorno, "The Authoritarian Personality"
  • G. Deleuze, F. Guattari, "A Thousand Plateaus"

We suggest reading in the order above. Excerpts available on request at: zapisy@artmuseum.pl

The meeting will be held in Polish.
