The Warsaw contemporary art scene is the country's phenomenon.

Three strong public institutions and over twenty private galleries create a complex conglomerate of initiatives and strategies, rivalry and elements of synergy. What is the dissimilarity between the social role of these two types of institutions? Where do conflicts of interest and hotspots appear? Who educates the audience and who promotes Polish artists abroad? In what situations should the state subsidize this activity? Who should provide conditions for artistic experiment? Is there anything like non-market art? Who should back it up? What is the role of collectors in this area? What is the role of curators and critics?
