Themed guided tour

The participants of the tour will hear about Zofia Rydet's artistic path that led her to the idea of creating the monumental “Sociological Record”.

We will follow the path from her young fascination with “collecting pictures”, through the making of surreal collages, to work on the “Record” itself. We will talk about Zofia Rydet's work methods, her creative process and the inconsistencies that resulted from obsessively working on the project. We will think about the meaning of the “Record”'s peripheries and wonder if and how they influence its perception. We will also take a look at how the work on the “Sociological Record” ended - work on a project that was destined to fail from the onset.

The tour will be guided by Iwona Burnat, a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw's Faculty of Graphic Arts. She is interested in traditional graphic art techniques, especially intaglio.
