A series of workshops for youth (aged 13-16)

  • Objectification of art

A ready–made object or its elements can constitute one of the bases of the work of art’s materiality.

It is an interesting case when a ready form gains a completely new meaning. Depriving an object of its functionality is most often a precondition for such transformation. In this case destruction becomes a creative method. Combination of different, completely unrelated objects (assemblage) is possible. Sometimes an object can be hidden or enveloped (assemblage) to blur its obviousness.

We will look for examples of various artistic acts performed with the use of objects found at current exhibitions of the Museum of Modern Art. We will also attempt at performing own operations on everyday objects.
