Treatise on objects or treatise on man?
Themed guided tour

Zofia Rydet claimed that there is a mechanism that makes people instinctively surround themselves with objects that can say more about them than they could. This guided tour of “Record, 1978 – 1990” will be an attempt to answer the following question: “What and how did Zofia Rydet photograph?”

We will use the exhibition to create a perspective on the connection between the artist's work method and the objects in her photographs – the people and their things. The meeting might serve as a starting point for a reflection on the role of objects and photographs in today's world.

The meeting will be led by Karolina Szyma, a fourth year ethnology student at the University of Warsaw. She is interested in contemporary cultural phenomena, music and the anthropology of sport.
