The second theme guided tour through the “Lest The Two Seas Meet” exhibition includes the selection of works that will give the participants an opportunity to explore the phenomenon of movement in all possible aspects – from the freedom of crossing the open borders to the horrors of journeys forced by the unstable political situation in one’s home country.

We will chose some of the examples to refer to the problems of alienation, exclusion and uprooting caused by the obligation of “being in-between”. We will have a closer look at the situation of immigrants and refugees – a new generation of nomads trying to occupy new places in their communities. What is more, the meeting will be an opportunity for us to define our attitude towards the Other as well as rethink some slightly outworn concepts such as tolerance, hospitality, globalization or multiculturalism.
