Beautiful art about an ugly world
Workshops for children aged 4 to 10

  • Beautiful art about an ugly world

Is art always beautiful? Can ugly things be beautiful? Modern art tends to surprise with tough topics, forms that violate esthetic canons or even a total lack of form.

During the Sunday workshops we will give some thought to the meaning of the words “beauty” and “ugliness.” We will search the exhibition In the Heart of the Country for artworks whose form or difficult meaning make them ugly. We will reflect on whether they really are ugly.

Additionally, we will actively participate in the creation of a deliberately ugly work of art, using not so noble materials as gray paper, toilet paper and adhesive tape.
