South-Eastern Europe, notably the Balkans, is a region with a strong profile for moving image and media experimentation. The artistic heritage of the area has been frequently addressed by various shows and events organised by the Museum.

During the meeting and film screening organised by Filmoteka Muzeum, Greg de Cuir, Jr will showcase some of the latest film projects by artists from the Balkans and South-Eastern Europe. The curator of the festival Alternative Film/Video Belgrade will present a selection of films awarded by the festival in the recent years. Greg de Cuir, Jr will also talk about his festival, highlighting its history and the current role in the Balkan and European artistic landscape.

Greg de Cuir, Jr is an independent curator, writer, and translator affiliated with the festival Alternative Film/Video Belgrade. Lives and works in Belgrade. He has curated film and video programs for Los Angeles Filmforum, the ICA Artists’ Film Biennial in London, goEast Festival of Central and Eastern European Film in Wiesbaden, and other institutions. His writing has been published in Cineaste, Jump Cut, Art Margins, Festivalists, Belgrade Literary Journal, and other journals and anthologies.
