My home, my asylum. Living comfortably
Children's workshop

  • My home, my asylum. Living comfortably

In the 19th century the little Renaissance Revival Borman palace was a lavish family residence. Today, hidden in the shadow of tall blocks of flats, it can only reminisce about its days of glory.

What was it like to live in this villa? Do modern apartments stand any chance in comparison? During this workshop we will think about what it really means to live comfortably and how the space and decoration guidelines changed over time. Starting with the revival Borman palace, continuing through typical communist-era flats and ending with today's “made in IKEA” homes, we will discuss the characteristics of the given times. We will talk about what we consider a determinant of comfort and how we would like to live. We will explore our preferences regarding traditional and modern interiors. At the end of the workshop, we will walk through the “Home At Last” exhibition.
