At a solo concert at the Auditorium of the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw Anna Zaradny will present her recent musical piece.
Acclaimed as a composer and improviser, Anna Zaradny has been successfully exploring the field of contemporary experimental electro-acoustic music. Her solo electronica concerts are renowned for their formal density, intensity and dynamism.
Anna Zaradny - a sound and visual artist, composer, instrumentalist, co-founder of the Musica Genera Festival and Musica Genera label. Anna Zaradny expresses herself in sound and visual art. As a composer and instrumentalist, she tries out a broad spectrum of means of musical expression, beginning with improvised acoustic music with a contemporary minimalist idiom, up to fully electronic, structurally and compositionally complex experimental form.
Zaradny creates her visual work mainly in the shape of installation, object, photography and video. She utilizes abstraction, micro-scale sound and architectural objects, light and space. Her works are characterized by ambiguity of concept and relationships between ideas and the medium of form.
She executes her projects worldwide: her latest significant presentations have taken place at the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw, Starter Gallery in Warsaw, Zachęta – National Gallery of Art in Warsaw, SiILBERKUPPE – Berlin and Kunst Werke, Berlin. She has also played live on various festivals:
El Nicho Aural Festival, Mexico City, Unsound Festiwal, New York, Exploratory Music From Poland Super-Deluxe Tokyo, Japan, What is music? Sydney, Melbourne; All Ears Oslo. Anna Zaradny’s discography includes solo work and collaboration with, among others, Robert Piotrowicz, Burkhard Stangl, Tony Buck, Cor Fuhler. She also composes music for theatre performances and multimedia projects. Zaradny is a laureate of the audience award of the 5th edition of “Spojrzenia 2011 – Deutsche Bank Foundation Award.”
