The book Jesteś w sercu zmian. Surrealizm i antyfaszyzm is an anthology of contemporary texts on international surrealism and its political significance.

 

We do not write about Paris, even though Surrealism began in that city in 1924. Instead, we explore various manifestations of the movement: from Mexico through Egypt to the Caribbean and Prague, against the backdrop of the turbulent history of Europe and the world from the 1930s to the 1960s. Contributions on artists working within the orbit defined by the philosophy of chance—both objective and non-accidental anti-fascism—were submitted by Fabrice Hergott, Alyce Mahon, Michael Richardson, Lizzie Thyne, Marie Mauze, Maria Clara Bernal, Elisabeth Clayton, Michel Otayek, Sam Bardaouil, and Dorota Jarecka.

 

The book accompanies the exhibition of the same title at the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw.
