New Release from MSN Publishing

The collection consists of a poem and seven short stories inspired by the work of Edward Dwurnik. This literature revolves around the two titular emotions that were of key importance to the painter, who depicted how society creates visions of social advancement and decline, success and disgrace.

 

Dwurnik’s paintings engage in a dialogue with the most compelling voices of the younger generation—known for their critical perspective on changing lifestyles and social hierarchies, as well as their awareness of their roots. The authors formulate their own observations, lending a contemporary dimension to reflections on the social emotions that constantly simmer beneath the surface of Polish modernity.

 

The book accompanies Edward Dwurnik’s exhibition *Pride and Shame* at the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw.
