NEW BOOK PUBLISHED BY MSN WARSAW

This volume provides a lively narrative of the phenomenon of the artistic studios in the complex of tenement buildings on ul. Inżynierska in Warsaw’s Praga district. Written with literary flair, it is also a monograph on the site, the local community, and its activities since the mid-1990s.

On ul. Inżynierska, Anna Walewska collaborated with Katarzyna Kozyra. Walewska has captured over two decades in Polish art in the form of an appealing, subjective narrative, her own interviews with participants and witnesses of events and artistic activities pursued in the group of warehouse buildings of the Wróblewski i S-ka company (with Katarzyna Górna, Paweł Althamer, Karol Radziszewski, Ivo Nikić, Jan Mioduszewski, Zelda Klimkowska and Katarzyna Kozyra), backed by documentation from art exhibitions and theatrical events. She also selected about a hundred photos from the artists’ private archives.

The book was created as part of a City of Warsaw artistic fellowship.
