Museum under construction.
Graphic design for the construction fence of new Museum HQ
The construction of the new headquarters for the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw started in April 2019. This important investment is set to energize the district of Śródmieście and will begin a series of steps towards rebuilding the whole area around the Palace of Culture and Science.
The most visible part of the construction fence runs alongside Marszałkowska street, up to the intersection with Świętokrzyska, with the Palace of Culture and Warsaw's skyline in its background. The graphic design for the fence was created by Ludovic Balland Typography Cabinet. The studio was established by the Swiss designer Ludovic Balland who has been collaborating with the Museum since 2008 and is the author of its visual identity.
Balland's black-and-white graphic for the fence also includes slogans conceived for the new chapter of the institution: ZRÓBMY COŚ ZE SZTUKĄ meaning "let's do something about art" and #MUZEUMWBUDOWIE – "museum under construction". The latter is also the name of the new Instagram account set up to document the 42 months of the investment: @muzeumwbudowie.
