The Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw, together with Kyiv Biennial and L'Internationale, cordially invites you to
the opening of the exhibition Near East, Far West - Kyiv Biennial 2025.
The opening will take place on Thursday, 2 October 2025, at the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw, at 103 Marszałkowska Street, Warsaw.
The Kyiv Biennial is an international forum dedicated to art, knowledge, and politics, integrating exhibitions and discussion platforms. It was initiated and is organised by the Visual Culture Research Centre in Kyiv. Its sixth edition, co-organised by MSN and L’Internationale, is entitled Near East, Far West. The exhibition has been prepared by a consortium of curators from L’Internationale - a European confederation of museums, art institutions, and universities.
The exhibition takes place against the backdrop of ongoing wars, occupations, ethnic cleansing, and genocide, including Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Israel’s brutal military operation in the Gaza Strip, and the broader fascist turn in global politics. For many of the participating artists, the violence of war remains the defining context and overarching horizon. Their works reflect how violence has permeated every sphere of life, leading to the erosion of social cohesion and solidarity.
