What did Warsaw sound like nearly two hundred years ago, before the street bands we know today appeared? What melodies and lyrics were woven into the daily lives of our great-great-great-great-grandmothers and great-great-great-great-grandfathers?

Take part in free singing workshops and discover the musical roots of Warsaw. During the session, we’ll explore the traditional songs of Urzecze—an ethnographic micro-region of Warsaw where, over 100 years ago, different cultures met and intertwined.

The workshops will be led by:

Ewa Wałecka

Magdalena Sobczak

These workshops are for you if:
  • you have musical experience;
  • you have no musical experience, but you’d like to give it a try;
  • you want to learn about the musical traditions of Warsaw and Urzecze;
The Urzecze Song Workshops are part of the Urzeczeni project carried out by the Blisko Muzyki Association.
