Agriparks, or agricultural parks, are urban areas where food production coexists with public space and landscape conservation. Developing these types of spaces in cities can be a response not only to climate change or the need for access to locally produced food, but also to ongoing changes in the labor market. Today, professions related to agriculture, food, and nature restoration—which require fieldwork, knowledge of soil, and responsibility for living ecosystems—are growing in importance.
During the discussion, we will talk about how agriparks can become part of the urban food system and a source of jobs for new generations of farmers, responding to the changing nature of work and the growing demand for both new and traditional professions. Warsaw can support this direction of development by allocating land for agriparks, ensuring their permanent place in urban policy, and creating opportunities for retraining, education, and strengthening the professions of the future. The discussion will feature Monika Fedorczuk, a labor market expert and representative of the Warsaw Labor Office; Stanisława Golinowska, an economist and public policy researcher; Maciej Łepkowski, a landscape architect and co-creator of the Urzecze agripark concept; and Sebastian Starzyński, a regenerative farmer and futurist. The discussion will be moderated by Izabela Zygmunt, a specialist in climate policy and social change.
