Does one of the most important figures of the Polish Film School –whose work was admired by Martin Scorsese, Andrei Tarkovsky, and Jean-Luc Godard – have a chance to be rediscovered today?

„Passenger Andrzej Munk” is a documentary by Michał Bielawski dedicated to one of the most outstanding directors of Polish cinema, who died tragically at the age of 39. The film, based on unique archival materials – including previously unknown footage discovered in Polish and international collections – offers a fresh perspective on Munk. Excerpts from his films, newsreels, photographs, and statements by the director himself, his collaborators, and friends come together to form a story about a man and an artist whose work has lost none of its power to this day. The film is narrated by Adam Woronowicz.

The film’s premiere coincides with the 105th anniversary of Andrzej Munk’s birth, providing an opportunity to rediscover the body of work by the director of *Man on the Tracks*, “Eroica,” “Bad Luck” and “Passenger” – and to answer the question of why Munk’s films remain relevant to this day.
