For a special screening at KINOMUZEUM, Ryszard Waśko selected 11 films made during his time at the Warszt Formy Filmowej.
His filmmaking stemmed from an interest in the structure and language of the medium, as well as from attempts to explore its fundamental principles. Waśko used mathematical and logical models to analyze the film image, its time, space, and the way meanings are constructed, while simultaneously subjecting the very nature of the medium to experimentation and deconstruction.
The screening will be followed by a discussion with the artist, moderated by Robert Jarosz. The conversation will serve as a starting point for examining works selected by Waśko and the methods behind them. We will discuss the relationship between the two-dimensional nature of the image and the illusion of space, the ways in which reality is recorded and transformed, and how film can become a tool for exploring its own structure.
The program includes the following films:
Okno, Krzesło, Ściana, Układ I - VI, Model QRTVY(qt)Z(rv), Inwentaryzacja przestrzeni przy użyciu liczb 1-10, Podróż Wacława Antczaka do kiosku przy ul. Głównej, A-B-C-D-E-F = 1-36, 30 sytuacji dźwiękowych, A>B>A i Róg.
