POGOVORYMO: La Palisiada

Psychological thriller set in Ukraine in 1996, just before the abolition of the death penalty. The story begins when a forensic expert becomes involved in investigating the mysterious death of a militia officer. What starts as a routine investigation soon evolves into a complex web of political intrigue and moral dilemmas.

The film sheds light on a transformative period in Ukraine's history, when the country was reevaluating not only its political system but also fundamental social values, including attitudes toward human life. Philip Sotnychenko's feature debut is a meticulously crafted thriller that simultaneously serves as a profound reflection on the nature of justice and responsibility.

"La Palisiada" is Ukraine's official submission for the 2025 Academy Awards.
