The Service Team is a sports group established around a shared passion. We liked the sound of bouncing ping-pong balls so much that we wanted to hear it more often. Every summer we played on a table erected on a muddy surface at the legendary Eufemia bar at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts—and later, occasionally, on various concrete tables in nearby parks. In January 2023 we decided to start meeting regularly at one of the recreation centers in Warsaw, and since then we have played together for almost two years. Some of us played in high school leagues, or remember table tennis from summer camp or PE classes, while others have used ping-pong in their art. Everyone announces at first, “I warn you that I haven’t played for years,” only to throw themselves into the sport totally, impatiently waiting their turn at the table.

This game we have in common, and the time together, do us a world of good, and we want to share it, at the same time breaking in the fresh space of the MSN Warsaw building. After all, table tennis has a long tradition of influencing art, and has made a mark in installations by Edward Krasiński and Rirkrit Tiravanija and in happenings by Július Koller.

We invite you to play freely and animate the MSN Warsaw tables, adapted by the artists in Room M116 of the new building!  During the first few weeks of the museum’s opening, there will also be two tournaments, individual and team.

Sign up for an individual ping-pong tournament on November 2.
