MSN Warsaw invites you to a creative workshop (in Polish) entitled “Mud Frogs,” accompanying the exhibition by the Zakole group. The event will be held in the museum’s new building at ul. Marszałkowska 103.

The question “Would you lay your eggs here?” is the starting point for exploration of the exhibition by the Zakole group, which is devoted to the unique ecosystem of the Wawer Bend swamp in Warsaw.

What does the word “here” mean? At the museum? In Warsaw? Or perhaps the swamp itself? The perfect place for frog eggs—“frogspawn”—is a swamp. It is an area pulsing with life, full of unusual species and mysterious processes. In our visit to the exhibition we will discover how contemporary art talks about such places, pointing out their ecological value and their role within the urban environment.

Creative portion of the workshop: mud sculptures
In the second part of the event, we will play the role of creators of new species. Using clay, we will make sculptures of imaginary frogs—inhabitants of the wetlands. Our works will answer the question “Would our frogs lay their eggs here?” By working with clay, a material resembling mud, we will feel a connection with nature and see how inspiring nature can be. This is a unique workshop combining knowledge about the environment with creative activity, encouraging you to discover the relationship between art, nature, and ecology.

Children participating in the event must be accompanied by at least one caretaker.

The number of places is LIMITED!

Leader:
Weronika Siemińska, anthropology student (with an interest in the connections between human and non-human beings) and educator. She is also a performer of Polish traditional music.
