Produced in 1975 by Wytwórnia Filmów Oświatowych, Living Gallery was a collaborative film documenting the Polish neo-avant-garde scene. Robakowski wrote about it as a risky and responsible task: an attempt to "discover the mentality of currently active artists" and reveal their artistic consciousness.
The film is a record of interdisciplinary activities – short, intense artistic statements by eighteen artists who, in a strictly limited time of one and a half minutes, carry out their own activities, treating the camera as a field of direct confrontation.
Żywa Galeria 2 returns to the same formula, bringing it into the present day. The film presents 19 artists working today in the field of multimedia – the next generation entering the Polish art scene. The 1.5-minute time limit serves as a formal test: it organizes the material and at the same time brings out the diversity of attitudes, strategies, and artistic languages.
