Hot Spot is a futuristic science-fiction thriller set in the near future, where social order is dictated by sentient artificial intelligence. A private detective investigates a murder and stumbles upon a group of rebels capable of challenging the authority of the digital system. The deeper he delves into the case, the more he becomes convinced that in a world governed by algorithms, nothing is what it seems.
The international cast of Hot Spot includes Andrzej Konopka (LARP: Love, Trolls, and Other Quests, The Dancing Girls), Noomi Rapace (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Prometheus), and Reika Kirishima (Drive My Car, Norwegian Wood).
Agnieszka Smoczyńska is one of the most original directors in contemporary European cinema – the creator of the award-winning The Lure, Fuga, and The Silent Twins.
