In Fetysz, Małga Kubiak draws on her own biography, archival footage, and the punk camp and VHS-style trash aesthetic characteristic of her work.
The film balances between autobiography, performance, and political manifesto, consciously remaining close to the intimate, the corporeal, and the exaggerated. Aggression, sexuality, and violence are not merely themes here, but also tools for constructing a language that defies the norms of good taste and social restraint.
Kubiak is not alone, however—she is joined by queer artists Antii Gonna, Pepe Le Puke, Aleksandra Kluczyk, Simona Kasprowicz, and Aleksandra Szczodry. Their collective presence transforms the personal narrative into a story of collective experience and solidarity.
Fetysz is a film about the need to express oneself without self-censorship, but also about how a personal gesture can become a form of resistance against war, imperialism, and the prevailing social order.
The screening will be followed by a discussion with Malga Kubiak, moderated by Weronika Zalewska.
