FATHER MOTHER SISTER BROTHER
"FATHER MOTHER SISTER BROTHER" is the winner of the last Venice Film Festival and the best film in years by Jim Jarmusch, creator of "Paterson" and "Broken Flowers".
A film trilogy full of brilliant observations, precisely composed, about family relationships and what causes us to drift apart.
Each of the three chapters takes place in the present day, in a different country: FATHER in the northeastern United States, MOTHER in Dublin, and SISTER BROTHER in Paris. Jarmusch's film is a collection of subtle, humorous, but also melancholic portraits of human characters.
Starring: Cate Blanchett, Adam Driver, Tom Waits, Vicky Krieps, and Charlotte Rampling.
The director himself says this about his latest film: "FATHER MOTHER SISTER BROTHER is, in a sense, the antithesis of action cinema. Its subdued style was deliberately crafted to allow the viewer to notice small details – like three carefully arranged flower arrangements. Working with outstanding cinematographers Frederick Elmes and Yorick Le Saux, the excellent editor Affonso Gonçalves, and other regular collaborators allowed us to elevate what initially existed only as words on a piece of paper to the rank of pure cinema".
