Join us for a guided tour as part of the series Elevator or the Stairs? of the exhibition The Woman Question 1550–2025.

The tour will be based on the exhibition Women Artists 15501950, which opened in 1976 at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. It was curated by art historians Linda Nochlin and Ann Sutherland Harris. This exhibition was a watershed moment in the history of thinking about women’s art, as well as for feminist curatorship.
The exhibition featured works by artists who are also represented in the exhibition The Woman Question 1550–2025. During the tour, we will highlight these artists and examine the differences between these two curatorial concepts. We will explore how the history of women’s art has changed since the 1976 exhibition.
