Daniel didn’t hear his 16-year-old son Krzysztof leave the house early in the morning. He didn’t know what had drawn the boy to the bridge over the Vistula – he only knew that was where he was last seen. A CCTV camera captured him, and then, between one rotation and the next, Krzysiek disappeared. There are two possibilities: either he jumped into the river, or he slipped off the bridge unnoticed.

Ever since then, Daniel and his wife Agnieszka have been living in limbo: between desperate hope and paralyzing fear. Daniel cannot passively wait for an increasingly unlikely breakthrough in the police investigation, so he builds a boat equipped with cameras and drones with the intention of exploring the river’s dark depths on his own. This marks the beginning of a search that will consume him entirely. Day after day, he combs the Vistula, constantly developing new search tools and techniques. Other families trapped in the same abyss of uncertainty and endlessly searching for answers begin to reach out to him. The long, lonely hours spent on the boat become an opportunity for Daniel to come to terms with his life before Krzysztof’s disappearance. As the months pass, his pain only deepens; the father struggles with the constant tension between an unwavering drive to continue the search and the painful reality in which this irreversible loss will change his life once and for all.
