The Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw, the Association of Friends of MSN Warsaw, and the Ocalenie Foundation invite you to the 9th charity art auction, with the proceeds earmarked for assistance for migrants and refugees.
This year artists from Poland and abroad are taking part in the exhibition and auction—including both famed, well-established artists and those early in their career. Alongside a painting by Wilhelm Sasnal there is a work painted jointly by Jarosław Modzelewski and Marek Sobczyk, as well as works by such figures as Edward Dwurnik, Karol Radziszewski, Mikołaj Sobczak, Julia Woronowicz and Ant Łakomsk. There are sculptures by Iza Tarasewicz and Zuza Golińska, photographs by Zofia Kulik, Joanna Piotrowska and Sophie Thun, and an exceptional drawing by Magdalena Abakanowicz. The participants also include representatives of the younger generation of Ukrainian artists, such as Nikita Kadan and Kateryna Lysovenko. The presence of renowned figures on the international contemporary art scene, such as Barbara Kruger, Marlene Dumas, Wolfgang Tillmans and Helen Marten, provides a particular accent to this edition of the event.
During the exhibition and auction, limited editions of works by three artists—Jadwiga Sawicka, Agnieszka Polska and Elżbieta Jabłońska—will be available for purchase at the MSN Warsaw bookstore. It’s important to us to make sure this collective gesture of support is accessible to all.
The proceeds from the auction and sale of the special editions will be devoted to tangible assistance provided by the Ocalenie Foundation in two projects: Refugees Welcome Polska and the Help Center for Foreigners.
Refugees Welcome Polska connects refugees with people living in Poland who have a room to spare. This provides refugees with a roof over their heads, while opening the way to integration, getting to know each other, and breaking stereotypes. The Help Center for Foreigners offers free psychological and legal support, assistance in contact with government offices and in finding work, so that new arrivals can build a good life in an unfamiliar place.
