The Nador-Melilla Border Trap. Border Forensics, 2024.
Border Forensics is an agency that conducts investigations into practices of border violence perpetrated by states, police forces, militaries, and corporations. As part of the public program accompanying the exhibition Think of Others. Think of Yourself Charles Heller, the Director of Research of Border Forensics, will present the agency's work and methodological approach.
The presentation will focus on some of the methodological innovations that the agency has developed over the last years with the aim of investigating the violence of borders, while also reflecting upon the imperative of engaging critically with the very technologies that enable this investigative practice. Through the exercise of a disobedient gaze, Border Forensics not only seeks to reveal violent practices, but also to challenge the boundaries of what can be seen and heard at Europe’s borders.
